Continuing our Habits During Hiatus | Marcia Horn | 5-22-2020

Transitions are usually a hard process to process. With the current situation of our state “opening” back up, this transition seems like it would not be hard to go through. We’ve been waiting on things to go back to “normal”. However, this should be a transition we take very mindfully.

This is similar to exercise. We don’t just have an exercise routine of workouts several times a week and several miles of walking or running a few days a week, take a break for several months and expect our bodies to go right back to that level of exercise on our first day back. We also don’t start all over either. Our bodies adjust to returning to exercise faster than if we had never done it before, it just doesn’t happen immediately. Don’t try to jump right back into the routine. Injuries are very common when your mind is convinced your body is ready. Gradually increase your activity over time so that your body can adjust to what your mind knows it can do.

Have a safe and blessed Memorial Day weekend!

Picture Pickup for T-ball/Baseball/Softball

Reminder: Picture pick up for all T-ball, baseball and softball teams will be THIS Saturday, May 23, from 10 AM to 2 PM AT THE PAVILION near athletic fields.

Please remember to follow the protocol for the 6 foot distance between you and another person. Our staff members will take your information, pull your pictures, and then place them on a table for you to pick up. Please have your child’s team number, team name, as well as their name ready when you come to the table. As of right now, this is the only picture pick up time we have scheduled.

Please remember to come to the PAVILION and NOT THE MAIN BUILDING/REC DESK.

Thank you!

Announcement Regarding Opening Facility | May 13, 2020

Dear Recreation Ministry & C-Sports Families,

Our Pastor Rob Couch has directed that Christ United will be complying with the Guidelines by the CDC for Opening Up America Again, a three-phased approach based on the advice of public health experts.

At this time, we will not be able to have activities where interaction with shared equipment, open space, or inability to keep from having physical contact will be a possibility. The staff to control that kind of flow with the number of participants we have in our ministry is also not where it would be manageable.

We will continue to keep you updated on how we will be able to open our doors to activities as we go through the proper phases.

Thank you for all of the emails, calls, messages, and support you have given to us over the last few months. We have felt the love.

Blessings,
Christ United Methodist Church Recreation Ministry

CONTINUING OUR HABITS 5-8-2020

As you may know, this week we have been praying for Rose Farnell's husband, Kevin. We are very saddened to report that he has passed. Please continue to keep the family in your prayers as they go through this tough time.

Rose deeply loves this ministry, the families and children who are involved, but mostly that she is able to give the love of Jesus and it be through sports. She and Kevin and their children have spent their entire lives as athletes, supporters, coaches, and leaders in sports and ministry. Please enjoy the Celebration video of last year's T-Ball, Baseball, & Softball season as it is a wonderful way to celebrate life and sports - what the Farnell family has loved for many years.

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid." John 14:27

CONTINUING OUR HABITS | Marcia Horn | 5-1-2020

We are continuing to seek ways to stay active this week in addition to our regular habits. Even adding a short walk around the block helps! Keep your body busy so it can rest and a rested mind can stay sharp! We can also devote this active healthiness to our spirit through our faith!

She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks.
