Tony Collier Scholarship Fund

The Recreation Ministry at Christ United Church was created to reach and minister to people through activities that strengthen bodies through sports and fitness programs. The Recreation Ministry as a whole is supported by many volunteers. The recreation ministry serves over 5600 people each year and ministry would not be possible without our volunteers.

Tony Collier, and his wife Joyce, were regular participants in the Recreation Ministry’s fitness program. Tony’s love of the Recreation ministry and people led him to become a regular volunteer at the “Rec Desk”. Tony served many years until his unexpected passing in September 2023.

One of the largest programs at the Rec Min is the youth sports called C-Sports. It is an outreach for children in the  community and puts hundreds of players & coaches on the fields or courts each week. Each season we have several families in need of help to cover the cost of uniforms and equipment associated with expenses of the sport. No child will ever be turned away from playing due to the inability to pay. 

In honor of Tony and his love of the Recreation Ministry, we have created the Tony Collier C-Sports Memorial Scholarship. Donation to this fund will assist in reducing the costs for these families in need.

Make checks out to Christ United Church and put in the memo “Tony Collier Scholarship” so that it is designated for that fund.
